The Brave Bunny Project Sewing Club
I would like to introduce you to Bruce the Bunny! Bruce and his friends provide comfort to the children who are facing day surgery.
Cindy Lawson came up with The Brave Bunny Project in April 2021 during the height of the pandemic when her granddaughter was undergoing eye surgery. To date, she and her sewing helpers have sewn and donated over 2000 bunnies to the day surgery unit at Hotel Dieu Hospital (KHSC). There are an average of 10 children per week who undergo surgery at HDH, but some weeks that number is higher. In an effort to increase Brave Bunny production with a goal of having one available for each child undergoing surgery, Wilton Creek Fabrics Ltd is a sponsor for this project and a sew day is being co-ordinated at the store! We need your help! On this sewing day we need helpers to cut out bunnies, sew and/or stuff!
